EQUIPMENT PURCHASE AND RECOMMENDATIONS
INSTRUMENT SUGGESTIONS
Investing in a musical instrument can be a daunting task! Please use this page as a reference for purchasing. Quality equipment produces quality sounds and performance – that is the brand of the Sounds of the Seminoles Band Program. Please consider the following:
- Brands such as First Act, Etude, Mendini and/or any instrument purchased from department stores (Walmart, JCPenney, Sam’s, etc.) are not permitted in our program. Those brands are cheap quality; most repair companies do not service those brands as they are made of cheap material. Essentially, they are “toys” – not true instruments.
- Buying wholesale is a great idea! A lot of the instrument brands and types listed below can be found used and/or refurbished at local pawn shops and on social media marketplaces, like Facebook. Amazon is a great option for purchasing wholesale and also offer a few payments options.
- Rent-to-own programs are great deals! It’s simple: pay a cheap monthly fee for the instrument until it is paid off. Once it is paid off, it’s yours! In most cases, a rent-to-own instrument can be turned in for an upgrade and/or returned after usage.
